Dozens of people were killed and injured in an Israeli attack at dawn on Sunday on a house in Jabiliya, in the northern Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian medical personnel.

Footage circulating on social media, which reporters could not immediately verify, showed about a dozen bodies wrapped in blankets and laid out on the floor of a hospital. Residents of the area said that there were at least 30 people in the building targeted by Israel.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA and Hamas media put the number of people killed at 32. This number has not yet been confirmed by the region’s health ministry.

The Civil Emergency Service said its operations were suspended due to Israel’s ongoing raid on two towns and a refugee camp in northern Gaza, which started on October 5. He could not give a figure for the number of deaths in the attack.

Israel says it has sent forces to Jabiliya, Beit Lahiya and Beit Hanoun in the north of the region to fight Hamas militants who launched attacks from there and to prevent them from regrouping. He says his soldiers have killed hundreds of militants in these areas since the new offensive began.

In Gaza City, Welfare Ministry official Wael Al-Khour and seven other members of his family, including his wife and children, were killed Sunday in an Israeli airstrike on a house in the Sabra neighborhood, doctors and relatives said.
