A play popular with families during the festive season will be performed in a spectacular fashion in Liverpool city center in the run-up to Christmas.

In a giant twist to the Elf on the Shelf game, a 15-foot (4.5 m) version of the character will appear in various locations from December 1-24.

The Scouse elf will move to different parts of the city at night and visitors will be encouraged to seek out the elf named ‘R’Elf’ each morning.

Born out of the 2005 picture book The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition, the game has gained worldwide attention as a popular holiday tradition in which Santa’s elves visit families every day during the festive season.
