He showed them that they only offer coconut for Rs. E-commerce sites like 55, Zepto, Blinkit and BigBasket have priced it at a higher price. In the handwritten poster, the seller, in addition to mentioning the prices of these online platforms, also mentioned the price at which the healthy fruits can be sipped at his stall.

The roadside vendor, said to be from Bengaluru, said they would offer coconuts to customers for only Rs. 55. The poster said “Zepto 80, Blinkit 80 and BigBasket 80…Only our price is 55” in comparative format. Stating that their prices are much lower than other platforms, the seller added a smile emoji to the poster.

One of the X users who came across this poster posted it online on It was first published online by a person named Nithish Ravella, then officially titled “Peak Bengaluru” shared it online and made it viral.

Ravella, who shared it on wrote. Communicating this sentiment online, the popular city-based page asked its followers: “Will Quick Trade affect roadside coconut sellers?”

The internet reacts

A few people reacted to this. While some said we should encourage local sellers instead of buying from fast-track apps, others then evaluated the convenience offered and said that it comes with an extra price.

“This is beautiful. We should congratulate these vendors,” one wrote.

“Online delivery provides the convenience of your doorstep, so someone has to bear the delivery costs,” said another.
