A woman was killed when a driver crashed a truck into a Boston Pizza in Fort McMurray on Saturday morning.

RCMP say a Ford F350 crashed into the restaurant at Franklin Boulevard and Richard Street around 11:30 a.m.

A 24-year-old woman working at Boston Pizza was shot. He was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

The driver, the only person in the truck, was arrested and charges remain pending.

The accident also caused serious structural damage to the building.

Inspectors and Occupational Health and Safety teams are expected to remain in the area overnight.
