5 injured in ‘pattern’ of stabbings in 24 hours at CID in Seattle

SEATTLE – Five people were stabbed at close range in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District in about 24 hours.

While the Seattle Police Department has not said whether all of the cases are related, investigators said the stabbings followed a “pattern.”

Below is a list of stabbings that occurred between Thursday morning and Friday morning, according to SPD:

Stabbing 1: 12th Avenue South and South King Street

Around 1:30 a.m. Thursday, a 52-year-old woman He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition. after being stabbed eight times.

Responding officers found a trail of blood and a possible crime scene east of 8th Avenue South and South King Street, the department said.

Police said the events leading up to the stabbing were being investigated.

Stabbing 2: Eighth Avenue South and South Jackson Street

At 12:19 a.m. Thursday, police found a man in his 40s He was stabbed multiple times and taken to Harborview in serious condition.

The victim was stabbed seven times, three in the chest and four in the back, according to SPD.

Stabbing 3:Eighth Avenue Southand South Jackson Street

At 8.09pm on Thursday, a male victim was stabbed multiple times in the chest, back and hands. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Police began searching for the suspect in the third stabbing. The suspect was stated to be a 40-year-old black man, approximately 1.80 tall, weighing 200 kilos, and wearing a puffy jacket and green trousers.

Police found and detained a suspect, but witnesses told officers they were unsure if he was the right suspect. However, the man taken into custody had a warrant for a felony arrest, and SPD said he was booked into the King County Jail because of that warrant.

Stabbing 4:Eighth Avenue Southand South King Street

At 10:39 p.m. Thursday, police responded to another stabbing on King Street under the I-5 overpass. The victim told police that a man approached his car, forced the door open and tried to stab him in the chest.

SPD said the victim was able to block the knife and tackle the suspect, but his hand was cut. Police responded with helicopters and K9 units but were unable to find the suspect.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

Stabbing 5: 12th Ave South and South Jackson Street

At 1 a.m. Friday, police responded to an assault call and found the victim bleeding from his neck.

Police said the victim was so seriously injured that they were unable to speak to police. Police found a trail of blood on the doorstep and once again attempted to use a police dog to track the suspect, but no one was arrested.

Police said detectives are working to find out if there is any connection to the stabbings.
