Missing 76-year-old Florence Co. The man was found after a three-day search

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A Florence County man who went missing earlier this week has finally been reunited with his family.

John Rogers, 76, who has early-onset dementia, was reported missing around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was last seen heading towards National Cemetery Road in Fair Oaks Land.

The Florence County Sheriff’s Office said around 1:20 p.m. Friday, FCSO Aviation Unit Raptor I located Rogers in a wooded area near Paper Mill Road and Liberty Chapel Road.

“We never gave up looking for Mr. Rogers,” said Sheriff TJ Joye. “This is the second elderly traveler our Aviation Unit has successfully located in the last 30 days. “We are thrilled that Mr. Rogers has been found.”

Rogers was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and treated by Florence County Emergency Services when he was found.

FCSO said Rogers began searching the immediate area after receiving a report of missing deputies and was last seen using ground units, an infrared drone and a helicopter.
