California summary

A geographic breakdown of how Californians voted on major proposals and how the state Legislature is changing.

Election results will change as mail ballots, provisional ballots and other ballots are counted.

As of 19:44 on November 6, 100% of the regions (24,811 out of 24,811) are reported.

You can find the results of all races on the California Secretary of State’s website. Here.

STATE LEGISLATIVE BRANCH

The results are unofficial, but Democrats look set to maintain their supermajorities in the State Senate and House. Democrats had held a sizable majority in the State Capitol for more than 20 years, but no party had won a supermajority of seats in 80 years until Democrats achieved it in 2012. They’ve held onto it ever since.

Republicans may have gained seats in the Senate and House, but Democrats still hold supermajorities in both.
