PHILADELPHIA – Bryce Huff said he performed well the entire game against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. But after seizing an early opportunity, he remained on the sidelines until, somewhat surprisingly, he was called up for a few snaps late in the fourth quarter.

The pass rusher finished with six snaps. The reason for this was that he injured his ankle during warm-up. Huff said Thursday he was ready to go all game.

“It was up to the coaches to play me however they wanted to play me,” he said. “I was always ready to go.”

Still struggling to live up to the hopes the Eagles had when they signed him to a three-year, $51 million contract in the offseason, Huff has 1.5 sacks, nine QB pressures and just eight tackles on 41 percent shooting. There are problems in defense this season.

Is a message being sent?

If so, neither head coach Nick Sirianni nor defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has given any indication.

“He’s still in the rotation of runners, in the mix,” Sirianni said. “I have a lot of trust in him. You know he went through something last week after the warm-up. That’s how the game went and that’s how he felt. Yeah, I have a lot of trust in him and what he can do.”

Fangio added: “When a guy is dealing with something, you’d rather play the guy 100 percent or close to 100 percent. And at the end of the game, we had two drives where guys were gassed.”

Huff said he blocked out all media and fan noise by getting rid of his social media presence. “You don’t really see anything other than that, so I deleted everything,” he said.

Huff said he felt his ankle flare up a bit during warm-ups and reported it to the coaches. “I pushed someone like that,” he said. “He kind of took a wrong turn. I think he kind of took a turn.”

After the Eagles earned a 28-23 victory over the Jags, Huff refused to talk to reporters. He said Thursday it was because he wanted his injury treated as quickly as possible.

Huff said he is 100 percent ready to take on the Cowboys on Sunday in Dallas. Huff needs to take a lot of snaps due to Nolan Smith’s groin injury in practice. Should.
