St. Paul man dies in home fire

St. A St. Paul man died from his injuries following an incident. house fire last week.

St. The St. Paul Fire Department says crews were dispatched at 2:52 a.m. on Oct. 17 to a fire in the parking garage of a home in the 10th block of Nelson Street.

When the teams arrived, they were able to extinguish the flames in a short time, but while searching the house, they found a man who was unconscious. This happened after other residents of the building fled and told crews everyone was outside, according to the fire department.

The man was taken to hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries. His age and identity have not been released at this time.

It was determined that the fire broke out in the engine compartment of a vehicle parked in the closed garage of the house, which was determined to be accidental. Fire officials said smoke detectors woke up the occupants of the home, allowing many people to get out safely.

“Our hearts go out to the victim’s family and loved ones during this extremely difficult time,” the fire department said in a statement. “Every life lost is a painful reminder of the dangers fire can bring.”
