People in Nakhon Ratchasima are warned to prepare for severe weather precipitation Under the influence of Tropical Storm Tramy.

The Northeast Meteorological Center reported that Trami was about 400 kilometers southeast of Hainan, China, and was moving westward at a speed of about 20 kilometers per hour on Saturday morning.

The storm is expected to affect central Vietnam near Da Nang between Saturday and Monday, but will not directly affect Thailand. However, it may cause increased rainfall and strong winds in the northeastern region.

Provinces likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall include Nakhon Ratchasima, Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani.

Nakhon Ratchasima Governor Chaiwat Chuenkosum said he has instructed relevant agencies in all 32 districts to be alert around the clock, provide timely warning to residents and provide timely assistance to those affected.

Currently, water levels in 27 reservoirs in Nakhon Ratchasima are low; 51.2% and 28.45% of the total storage capacity are available for use in important reservoirs such as Lam Takong.

In the northern Philippines on Saturday, rescue teams raced to reach people stranded in inaccessible areas due to flooding from Trami, which displaced nearly half a million people and killed at least 87.

The center of the slow-moving storm, known locally as Kristine, hit Luzon Island on Thursday with winds of about 100 km per hour (60 miles per hour). Some local officials reported that it rained once a day for two months.

The storm was moving over the South China Sea towards Vietnam on Friday, but the weather agency warned that Trami could return next week and linger just off the coast of the Philippines due to two nearby weather conditions.
