WALLINGFORD, CT (WFSB) – A vehicle fire spread to a home in Wallingford on Wednesday.

Wallingford Fire Department reported responding to the home on Shetland Drive around 3 p.m.

While firefighters were on their way, a caller notified them that the fire had spread to the house.

Crews from both Wallingford and Meriden fire departments were dispatched.

When they arrived they said the fire was visible from outside the house.

The teams investigated the scene and prevented further spread.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the incident was under investigation as of Thursday morning.

Fire crews said the fire probably spread to the house because the air was very dry.

They tried to remind people to abide by the state’s ban on open burning. The Town of Wallingford also issued a ban.
