Caitlin Foord’s stunning solo strike against Chelsea was named the Emirates Goal of the Month for October.

While our Australian national forward finished the race at the top by collecting 42% of the votes, Ethan Nwaneri, who found the corner against Preston North End, came in second, and Bukayo Saka’s strike against Liverpool finished in the bronze medal position.

In the Emirates Stadium fixture, Caitlin took the ball from Emily Fox near the corner flag and charged towards the goal. Only flanked by Lucy Bronze, Caitlin took the Blues right-back with her quick footwork and curled the ball beautifully past Hannah Hampton from an almost impossible angle. Her superb effort earned her a nomination for the WSL’s division-wide Goal of the Month award.

This is the latest accolade for Caitlin, who won Women’s Performer of the Month in September and has been in the running for back-to-back awards.
