Delaware County driver faces drug and weapons charges

Alyssa Leslie, 30, of Darby, Delaware County, driving a 2008 Cadillac Escalade, was stopped by state police in the 800 block of Sheridan Street in the city around 12:15 a.m. Oct. 12 for illegal window tinting.

After officers saw a marijuana vape pen inside the vehicle, they asked him for permission to search his car, which he consented to, according to an affidavit. Police found 21 grams of marijuana and a loaded gun in the vehicle. Police said the woman had a license for the gun, but the license expired in March 2023.

Leslie was taken into custody and arraigned before District Judge Denise Dieter on charges of carrying a firearm without a license, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, plus five counts. Initially jailed, the woman later waived her preliminary hearing and was released on $10,000 bail.

Elderly Lycoming Township man charged with drug-related felonies

Jacob Thomas Greenly, 36, of 34 Catherine Drive, apartment 34, was charged by the county’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit with attempted delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a cell phone following an incident to which he admitted setting off. He was allegedly selling methamphetamine to another person when he was caught by a county detective at the city’s High and Rose streets around 11:45 a.m. on Sept. 18. affidavit. The court document stated that Greenly had a container containing a controlled substance with him.

He was released on $50,000 bail following his final hearing before District Judge Aaron Biichle.

Accusations against three women in two separate incidents

An-Nisa Nichole Jones, 25, of Lewisburg, and Nahjay Jackson, 22, of 815 W. Fourth St., were charged with criminal trespass, simple assault and harassment for forcibly assaulting a female acquaintance, Iyonna Edkins. City police allege Edkins broke into his home at 617 Third Avenue around 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 16. affidavit. Police said Edkins’ lip was swollen during the attack. Jones and Jackson appeared before District Judge Gary Whiteman hours later and were initially jailed but later released on $15,000 bail each. The two waived preliminary hearings.

In another criminal case, Edkins, 24, was listed as a defendant in a case in which state police charged him with theft of services and trespassing. The charges stemmed from his stay in a guest room at the Econo Lodge, 2019 E. Third St., on Sept. 27 after management banned him from his Loyalsock Township business, police said. It was stated in a statement that the room was not paid for. There was no explanation as to how Edkins obtained the room key. He was arraigned before Whiteman earlier this week and released on $10,000 bail.

Domestic disturbance leads to charges against Montoursville man

Alan Stephen Walker, 40, of 1301 Spruce St., Montoursville, faces charges of terroristic threats, false imprisonment and harassment. “threatened” his girlfriend tells him she will “knock him (expletive) down” It was alleged in his statement to the district police that there was a domestic disturbance at the couple’s house at around 20.40 on September 29. The court document stated that when officers arrived at the scene, it was clear Walker was intoxicated while standing and swaying. Police also said he had a strong odor of alcohol coming from him. Police said the woman had bruises on her left hip and left arm.

Walker waived his preliminary hearing before Whiteman and was released on $15,000 bail.

Impaired driver faces additional weapons charges

A criminal complaint was filed against disabled driver Isak Fowler because his short-barreled rifle was loaded. “Muzzle device that suppresses sound” It was discovered inside the pickup truck that state police officers stopped at Lincoln Drive and Tinsman Boulevard around 12:10 a.m. on March 5.

Police said soldiers seized a rifle in the center console with its barrel pointing toward the windshield. Police said Fowler’s BAC was 0.14. Fowler was charged with possession of a prohibited offensive weapon, driving under the influence and five criminal violations. He has since waived his preliminary hearing before Whiteman and remains free on $10,000 bail.

Second person arrested in armed attack case

Cassandra Jene Hughes, 36, of 816 Park Ave., was charged with felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm with an altered or obliterated serial number and endangering the welfare of a child after detectives with the county’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit seized a juvenile. One alleged handgun while executing a search warrant on Oct. 9 at the home he shared with John Kyle Smith at 816 Park Ave. in the city, an affidavit states.

Like Smith, Hughes was convicted of multiple felonies in Florida, the court document said. Hughes was arraigned before District Judge Kirsten Gardner and released on $30,000 bail. Smith, 29, had previously been charged with the same offenses and had been held in court on the same charges ever since. He is also free on $30,000 bail.
