Mussi indicted for murder by Barbour County grand jury | News, Sports, Jobs

PHILIPPI — Michael Mussi Jr. was indicted for murder by a Barbour County grand jury.

A total of 25 people were sued on Monday.

Mussi, 26, was charged with murder; use or presentation of a firearm during the commission of a crime; and four counts of wanton endangerment involving a firearm.

In March, Mussi was taken into custody the morning after the shooting death of Tanner Talbott of Belington.

Police had been searching for Mussi the previous afternoon following a fatal shooting near the Philippi Covered Bridge.

In other indictments:

Brian Randall Watson was indicted on 15 counts of sexual assault in the third degree; one count of sexual abuse in the third degree; 16 counts of sexual abuse by parent, guardian or guardian; eight counts of soliciting a minor via computer; openly soliciting a minor to engage in sexual activity with a minor via computer; twice soliciting a minor by means other than a computer; one count of use of obscene matter with intent to seduce a minor; and four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Christopher Dean Lampkin was charged with wanton endangerment, including firearm and domestic assault.

Isiah Joseph Harlan was charged with distribution and display of obscene matter to minors.

Gary Dale Trantham was charged with malicious assault.

Franklin Perry Brown was charged with failure to render aid and medication resulting in death.

Elizabeth Ann Fridley was charged with failure to provide assistance.

Nevaeh Paige Bennett was indicted on six counts of fraud by access device.

Rebecca Dawn Eskew was charged with access device fraud.

Michael Lee Vangilder Jr. was charged with manufacture of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Alexander Nathaniel Walker was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to commit conspiracy.

Carrie Ellen Pritt was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance.

Heather Rae Poe was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Ashley Rene Phillips was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to commit conspiracy.

Michael Anthony Reed was charged with burglary and grand larceny.

Kevin Lee Redding was charged with attempted burglary and burglary.

Robert Allen Swiger was charged with fleeing with a vehicle while intoxicated; no insurance; driving without a license; improper use of proof of registration; careless driving; and attack.

Trista Nichol Roberts was charged with eight counts of intent to commit fraud by access device.

James Bradley Stuart Jr. was charged with access device fraud.

Tyler Paul Shipp was cited for failure to appear; and fleeing in a vehicle with reckless indifference to the safety of others.

Michael Tyler Lynch was charged with grand larceny.

Betty Jo Mayle was charged with fraudulent schemes and conspiracy.

Mary Jane Judy was charged with fraudulent schemes and conspiracy.

Christopher David Hamrick was indicted for fraud schemes.

David Lee Golden was charged with driving while license revoked. Third offense for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Arnold Alfred Lipscomb was charged with two counts of failure to register or notify change of sex offender registry information; first offense.

The Barbour County Grand Jury met Monday for the October term, officials said. Presentations were made by Prosecuting Attorney Andrew Lynn Phillips and Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Kelsey Gross. The Grand Jury was presided over by Circuit Judge Shawn D. Nines of the 19th Judicial Circuit.

Hearings will be held at 9 a.m. on November 26 in the Barbour County Courtroom. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
