TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Tucson Police Department says a man died after being struck by a vehicle.

TPD said the crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 in the 600 block of West 22.And The street just west of Interstate 10.

Police said 43-year-old Frederick Juan Barnell was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and the driver remained at the scene.

TPD was notified today, November 5, that Barnell died from his injuries.

Detectives say Barnell tried to exceed 22And St. from south to north when hit. Police said the driver was not suffering from any illness at the time.
