Amarillo police identify man killed in motorcycle crash at I-40 and Bell

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – Amarillo Police Department has identified a victim fatal accident involving a motorcycle on Nov. 4 near I-40 and Bell.

According to the statement made by the Amarillo Police Department, police teams were dispatched to the accident area around 18:00 in the evening.

Upon arrival, officers located a black 2009 Kawasaki sport motorcycle and a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup.

The motorcycle was traveling southbound on Bell Street, crossing the southbound side of I-40.

The pickup truck was traveling eastbound on I-40 southbound crossing Bell Street.

Authorities said the pickup truck hit the motorcycle.

The motorcycle driver, identified as 19-year-old Landon McGinnis, died at the scene due to the injuries he received in the accident.

The driver of the Dodge pickup truck was not injured.

The Potter County Judge responded to the scene and ordered an autopsy.

This crash is being investigated by the Amarillo Police Department Traffic Investigation Team.
