COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced plans to open a Temple in Colorado Springs Monday afternoon.

The sanctuary will be approximately 45,000 square meters and built on 18.6 acres at the southern corner of Flying Horse Club Drive and Barossa Valley Road, officials said. It will also include a meeting house and service building.

This will be the first temple in Colorado Springs.

Other temples in Colorado can be found in Denver, Fort Collins and Grand Junction.
