Bucks Drop in Expert’s Week 1 NBA Power Rankings

Milwaukee Bucks became one of the surprise teams of the league, but not in a good way. Five games into the season before their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday, the Bucks have a 1-5 record and are on a five-game losing streak.

The Bucks haven’t been playing very good basketball lately, and that’s why they dropped heavily in the final power rankings after the first week of the season.

Stephen Noh of The Sporting News It dropped Milwaukee from No. 7 to No. 14 in the new power rankings.

“The Bucks are missing Khris Middleton, but that still doesn’t explain how reluctant they looked to start the year. They beat a depleted Philadelphia team, then lost to the Nets, Bulls and Celtics (who were 1-3 at the time),” Noh wrote.

“Giannis Antetokounmpo is still playing like one of the top stars in the league, but the roster is old and slow,” Noh said. “They’ve tried a variety of defenses, including an intriguing 3-2 zone with Giannis on top, but their point-of-attack defense remains a problem. They also haven’t kept up with the increasing tempo of the league.”

The Bucks were not the team many expected at this point in the season. Their offense and defense haven’t been very good, as they rank 21st in points per game (111.0), 22nd in three-pointers made (11.2), 25th in opponent points per game (119.6), and 21st in opponent fast break points. .

Nothing is going right for the Bucks right now, and it looks like things could get worse if they continue this trend.

The focus of the team is Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has been performing incredibly so far. He leads the team with 30.4 points and 11.6 rebounds per game.

Another star player and point guard, Damian Lillard, is also doing his job; He’s averaging 23.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.2 assists per game (leading the team) and shooting 41 percent from the field. His final performance on Thursday was underwhelming as he recorded just four points, six assists, two rebounds and shot 8.3% in 33 minutes.

The Bucks aren’t playing their style of basketball right now. The Bucks were 1-4 for the first time since the 2010-11 season, and this team included names such as Brandon Jennings, Michael Redd, John Salmons, Larry Sanders and Drew Gooden.

Let’s see if this Week 2 treats the Bucks a little better.
