We expect to see some clouds this weekend, which could lead to some much-needed rain.

phoenix – Forecasters at the National Weather Service say people in the Phoenix area could see wet weather this weekend.

Officials with the NWS’s Phoenix office predict Saturday’s high temperature will be 79°F and it will be somewhat cloudy throughout the day.

On Sunday, our next system goes into effect. The storm forms over the Pacific Northwest, then shifts downward. California On the beach until Saturday.

The system will be activated by Sunday morning Arizona with a cold front. This storm will bring the potential for rain, snow in the mountains, high winds and cooler temperatures. For now, it looks like the storm will track northern Arizona; This gives the best chance for rain/snowfall up to the higher elevations in the north and east of the Valley.

Rain chances range from 18% in Phoenix to 71% in Show Low, according to the NWS.

Part of the forecast reads, “Projected precipitation totals 0.0-0.1″ for the low deserts of south-central AZ, 0.05-0.2″ for the foothills, and 0.2-0.2- for the uplands north and east of Phoenix. 0.5” it reads.

Forecasters also say dry conditions are expected to return on Monday.
