Police allege that the driver of the pickup truck tried to escape by hitting a police horse and three cruisers. One of the collisions resulted in the pickup truck hitting the curb and crashing into the Little Burgundy store.

A short time later, a person in the vehicle is seen jumping out of the vehicle and running away from the police. After a short chase, the person was quickly caught. Police reported that another person was also detained at the scene.

Meanwhile, during the incident, a police officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and a police horse was taken to an emergency animal hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday, police identified the suspects as Jonathan Chabot Desrosiers, 33, of no fixed address, and Cedar Nicholas, 30.

Both were charged with theft of a motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Desrosiers faces nine additional charges, including injury to certain animals, dangerous operation of a vehicle, endangering/endangering the life or safety of the public, two counts of mischief/destruction of property over $5,000, and four counts of assault on a peace officer. weapon.
