NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) – Elmer’s Place, the beloved bar and restaurant located at 1433 East Street in New Britain, has officially changed hands.

Located just across the street from Central Connecticut State University and near the border with Newington, Elmer’s has been a staple of the local college scene since opening its doors in 1977.

The property was sold to Ted’s Restaurant & Bar, which operates a popular college bar near UConn’s Storrs campus.

Although ownership has been transferred, users can expect continuity as no major changes are planned to the venue and staff will remain in place.

The new owners are committed to preserving the vibrant tradition Elmer’s Place has built over the years and ensuring it continues to be a destination for students and locals alike.
