Police are investigating after a man was struck by a train in Cranston, R.I., on Saturday, authorities said.

Cranston police said the man was shot near Wellington Boulevard. Details about the victim’s identity or medical condition have not yet been released.

In an alert issued at 4 p.m., Amtrak said trains traveling between Boston and Kingston, RI, were delayed because a person “came into contact with a train west of Providence.”
