EAST LYME, Conn. (WTNH) — Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme is closed due to an active brush fire, according to the East Lyme Fire Department.

The fire started shortly before 12:30 p.m., and firefighters are using natural water sources from nearby rivers and Long Island Sound to contain the blaze.

People are asked to avoid the area and nearby residents may experience smoke for extended periods of time.
