MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. All northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Northwest 119th Street in Miami-Dade County were closed Friday morning following a fatal crash, authorities confirmed.

A blue Dodge SUV was traveling north on the highway when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a concrete barrier wall, according to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alex Camacho.

“As a result, the Dodge became disabled and rested, blocking the roadway,” Camacho said in an email to Local 10 News. “An oncoming black Honda sedan struck the Dodge and several passengers standing in the roadway.”

Camacho said a woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Two people were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.

“Northbound I-95 is currently closed and traffic is being directed to NW 103 ST,” Camacho said.
