Galaxy S25 series may finally offer seamless updates

Leaked Render of Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus (1)

TL;DR

  • A leak has claimed that the Galaxy S25 series will support seamless updates next year.
  • This will enable a much faster and less intrusive system update process than previous Galaxy flagship phones.
  • The Galaxy S25 series will join the Galaxy A55 5G in supporting this feature.

Google has been offering seamless updates to Android for a while now, greatly speeding up the system update process. Unfortunately, Samsung’s flagship phones do not support this option.

Seamless updates allow for a faster, smoother system update process. The new update is downloaded and installed in the background and people can continue to use their phones as normal. Users then simply reboot their phones when prompted to quickly launch the newly installed update.

In contrast, the vast majority of Samsung phones use the old update method, which restarts your phone and then starts the installation. People cannot use their phones during this long installation process.

These won’t be the first Samsung phones to offer seamless updates. Galaxy A55 5G reportedly introduced this functionality earlier this year. However, these would be the first flagship Galaxy phones to feature this feature.
