Before training on Friday, Mikel Arteta’s team held an evaluation meeting for families affected by the recent floods in Spain.

Torrential rain has reportedly brought devastation to communities in eastern Spain this week.

At his press conference on Friday, Mikel Arteta began by expressing his thoughts and condolences to those affected by the situation.

“Before we start talking football, I want to talk about the terrible disaster that is currently affecting my country,” he said.

“We want to send our thoughts, our full support and our sympathy to all those affected, to all families, to all individuals and of course to the whole country who have come together to find the best possible solution in this difficult moment.

“We want to show our full support from here on out and ask everyone to support as much as they can because what is happening is so terrible.”
