A man fled a traffic stop in East Nashville Wednesday night in a stolen car containing drugs and a gun.

Antoine Maupin, 21, was stopped on Baptist World Center Drive in a Dodge Charger reported stolen out of Clarksville. Maupin tried to walk away but was stopped by spike strips.

Allegedly, the suspect then got out of the vehicle and fled on foot, but was stopped and detained in a short time. According to MNPD officers, a gun was found on his escape route and cocaine was found in his pocket.

Another gun, marijuana, meth and pills were found in the vehicle.

Maupin is charged with four counts of drug possession, felony weapon possession, two counts of evading arrest and motor vehicle theft.

He is being held on a $160,000 bond.
