THIENSVILLE, Wis. – Thiensville restaurant The Cheel reopened after a long hiatus last year. Fire destroyed previous home in 2020It will close its doors next weekend. The owners’ second restaurant, Daily Taco & Cantina, will also close.

Cheel opened in 2014 and offers farm-to-table Nepalese cuisine. Back A fire in November 2020 destroyed the 130-year-old historic Queen Anne building It’s on the corner of Main Street and Buntrock Avenue that the restaurant calls home.

Building Demolished in January 2021In 2023, a new building was opened on the same corner. Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation And public donations helped finance the revival.

Daily Taco & Cantina is located at the corner of Main Street and Freistadt Road, just north of The Cheel. Cheel’s owners opened the restaurant in 2020.

Cheel’s last day will be Saturday, November 9th. An exact last day for Daily Taco has not been announced.
