Nicole Kidman shared that her late mother was a “great guide” throughout her life.

The 57-year-old actor was shaken by the death of his mother, Janelle Kidman, last month and is now reflecting on his relationship with her and how lost he feels without his “compass.”

“My mother was obviously an important guide throughout my life and probably my compass in terms of everything I did,” she told ‘Extra’.

“I would see him all the time, but I also had great teachers. “I met a lot of really wise women who stepped up and showed me the way.”

Earlier this week, Nicole said she was “hanging in there” and wished her family were here to celebrate her career achievements.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the premiere of the second season of ‘Lioness’, the actress admitted: “It’s a hard road, I’m staying there.

“I wish my mother were here too.

“That’s the only thing I would say. Everything is great at work, but I wish my mom was here.”

Last month, Nicole announced her mother’s death in a written acceptance speech at the Venice Film Festival, after being awarded Best Actress for her role in her new film ‘Babygirl’.

The film’s director, Halina Reijn, read his speech on his behalf.

It read: “When I arrived in Venice today, I soon learned that my beautiful, brave mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, had passed away.

“I am in shock and I need to go to my family, but this award is for him, he shaped me, guided me and created me.

“I am so grateful to be able to tell her name to all of you through Halina, the collision of life and art is heartbreaking, my heart breaks.

“We love you all.”
