As chronic overachievers forced to analyze contract terms to make a living, lawyers have an insatiable appetite for doing anything but law: legal poets, playwrights, painters, comics and corporate thriller writers all have graced these pages recently.

So for the latest event in the NSW Supreme Court’s year-long bicentennial celebration, the legal community has assembled from its ranks a line-up of composers, conductors, classical musicians and choral singers, almost all with legal backgrounds.
