Gauteng Traffic Police said the light delivery vehicle overturned and lost its load of beer.

Drivers were warned about delays due to three lanes being closed.

Gauteng Traffic Police spokesman Obed Sibasa said traffic from Centurion and Pretoria had been heavily supported, including drivers abandoning their vehicles to collect spilled alcohol.

Sibasa urged motorists to avoid this practice and urged motorists traveling from Pretoria and Centurion to use the N14 or R21 as alternative routes.
