LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Las Vegas jury sentenced an ex-convict to death for murdering his ex-girlfriend.

Robert Brown Jr., 46, is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend, Nichole Nick, 29, and wounding her 58-year-old mother. Police also found a bullet hole in the bed of Nick’s 3-year-old nephew, but the child was unharmed, police said.

Brown has been in custody since Los Angeles police arrested him in April 2014.

He was convicted of attempting to murder his then-wife in California in 1998, for which he would serve seven years in prison.

Brown’s sentencing will be on Tuesday, December 3, at 9:30 a.m.
