County: Allegheny

Fueled by Pittsburgh’s urban population and the influence of labor unions, Allegheny County gave Joe Biden 59% of the vote in 2020 to Donald Trump’s 39%.

Pittsburgh was historically an industrial city surrounded by suburban and more conservative rural areas. It has a strong union presence, and today issues like abortion rights, racial injustice and labor rights are cited as priorities by voters, along with health care, infrastructure and the cost of living.

Voter: Brianna Williams

Brianna Williams, a new mother, will vote for Vice President Kamala Harris on November 5. Williams said his biggest concern is how he will manage rising expenses. Financial stability and affordability are his top concerns.

“I think the cost of living is very important. As a new mother, it is important for me to know how I will pay my mortgage, how I will pay for daycare, and how I will feed my child when he is a little older.”

She’s also happy to see a woman of color running for president.

“As a black woman, it’s amazing to see a black woman running for president; it’s the highest office you can hold in America, so it’s very inspiring to know that someone who looks like me will be there.”
