The second phase of the 10-week road improvement project begins this week.

Roadworks on the A5086 Main Street at Cleator in West Cumbria will mean the motorway will be closed to most vehicles for five weeks from Monday.

School buses will be allowed to pass in the morning and afternoon, and waste collection on the affected routes will continue according to their normal schedule.

The City of Cumberland said a pathway will be provided to allow access for pedestrians and cyclists getting off their bikes.
