PEORIA, Arizona (AZAfamily) — A Phoenix woman and her young son died a rollover accident over the weekend In the West Valley.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said they died in a single-vehicle crash at milepost 14 along State Route 74 (Carefree Highway) on Saturday night. Quintero Lane and Quintero Golf Club.

DPS identified the woman driving the car as 45-year-old Elizabeth Paola Standefer and her 8-year-old son from Phoenix.

A DPS spokesperson said the Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling eastbound on SR 74 around 6:15 p.m., when the SUV left the roadway to the right for unknown reasons. The Tahoe then rolled over, ejecting the child.

Standefer and his son were pronounced dead at the scene.
