NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) – The SFA Lumberjacks got back on the winning streak against Houston Christian on Saturday night with a score of 55-6.

Junior Quarterback Sam Vidlak once again threw for over 300 yards and five touchdowns, including a 96-yard pass to Jordan Nabors.

But it was an attack that gave the Huskies a punishing finish, rushing for more than 230 yards on the day.

“When you can move the sticks that make football work, there’s nothing worse than that,” Head Coach Colby Carthel said. “…I was a former DC, nothing is more demoralizing than having the ball running down your throat”.

“I love throwing the ball..,” Vidlak said. “…but with the running game you can bring a different mentality and I think you can send a message to the other team..”.

But for Carthel, it’s hard to have one without the other.

“They compliment each other…” Carthel said. “…you know, you hear football praised… …and that’s true, but if you don’t have a running game on offense, you’re going to have a hard time throwing the ball.”

The Jacks look to continue their offensive prowess on Saturday night, they will start away against Nicholls, kick off is at 3:00pm.
