Officers from the Picayune Police Department met with deputies from the Perry County Sheriff’s Office this week for a training program on Patrol Pistol and Rifle Techniques. The goal was to strengthen officers’ ability to effectively use their duty pistols and rifles under high-stress conditions.

Detectives Petree and Neumann led the training by providing hands-on training to their colleagues and deputies, drawing on their extensive firearms expertise. Both detectives proactively sought advanced training and brought advanced tactical knowledge back to the department.

The Picayune Police Department plans to continue skill-building sessions in the coming months, focusing on advanced training and better equipping officers to respond to critical incidents.
