49ers’ Deommodore Lenoir Rising to Star

House names that are always mentioned San Francisco 49ers defenses Fred Warner and Nick Bosa.

If not now, another player will be mentioned next to them very soon. This player is cornerman Deommodore Lenoir, who is on his way to stardom. Lenoir had a great game against the Dallas Cowboys. He intercepted Dak Prescott on a great play involving CeeDee Lamb.

Lenoir said what he noticed while watching the film in the locker room was a ruse. It was based on the lineup and Lenoir “baited” Prescott into the shot. That’s weeks after week in which Lenoir was rocked by an interception.

Statistics will never show how well Lenoir played. Cornerback is not a position that can be supported using these. But make no mistake, Lenoir is playing at a high level. He is on his way to becoming one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. Considering how his career started with the 49ers, it was fun to watch.

“DMo is exactly what you want from a 49er,” head coach Kyle Shanahan said. “He came in at his first rookie camp and stood out, fined me for illegally messing with people and going on the internet a lot, so that’s why I mess with him all the time.

“But he started out very well, made a few mistakes early on as a rookie and lost a little bit of his confidence I think it was in his rookie year. Then in the second season, coming back in the offseason, it was something where he kind of got that job back and he’s kind of been around ever since.” He has been a stud for me and has a very good year every year.

Lenoir began his rise in 2022 when Emmanuel Moseley suffered a season-ending injury. Replacing a talented player like Moseley was a difficult task. However, Lenoir successfully narrowed the gap left by Moseley and performed well throughout the season.

His next breakthrough would come in 2023, when the 49ers committed to him as a cornerback. This is where he took his skills to new heights, which is crazy since he never played slots in college. They started messing around with him until he signed with the 49ers.

It was probably the first time the 49ers tried to play a player outside of his natural position, and it paid off handsomely. Lenoir’s ability to hit outside and inside, especially at a high level, makes him an incredible player. He was a threat that opposing quarterbacks wanted no part of.

Worst of all, if they don’t want Lenoir, they’ll have to deal with Charvarius Ward on the other side. Lenoir is still not a household name when it comes to the 49ers’ defense, but if he continues to rise at this rate, that will change soon. Someone who will see her become a star.
