Dallas Stars Center Named Third Star of the Week

dallas stars We are closed this season and continue where they left off last year. The Stars once again have all the makings of being a powerhouse in the Western Conference. goalkeepinguntil the end of their lineup. They are now 7-2 through nine games, trailing only the undefeated Winnipeg Jets with the best record in the NHL.

A big reason for the Stars’ success so far is the incredible play of center Matt Duchene. The NHL named the forward the league’s third all-star for the week ending Sunday, October 27.

Duchene has been in very good form in the last four games. He had multi-point outings in three of those contests, including a three-point performance against the Boston Bruins. It was a blast from the past for the former third overall pick who did everything he wanted on the ice.

His performance this season put him at the top of his team’s scoring leaders. He scored 11 points with six goals and five assists in nine games this season. The team has a dynamic and difficult roster to play against, with wingers Tyler Seguin and Mason Marchment spending most of their time on the ice.

Duchene, 33, has remained one of the league’s best players for more than a decade. Originally a draft pick of the Colorado Avalanche, he had stints with the Ottawa Senators, Columbus Blue Jackets and Nashville Predators before joining the Stars in 2023. His best season was in the 2021-2022 season with the Preds, when he scored 43 goals. and 86 points, 43 assists in 78 games. He scored 374 goals, 473 assists and 820 points in 1,065 games.

The Stars look to continue this momentum heading into the regular season. With tough competition in their division and conference, they will need Duchene to keep up that scoring production as they pursue their first Stanley Cup in over 20 years.
