OAK GROVE, Ky. (WSMV) – An Oak Grove man was killed in a crash involving a motorcycle and a tractor trailer Sunday afternoon.

Kentucky State Police troopers were called to mile marker 86 on I-24 just after 1 p.m. Sunday. When they arrived at the scene, they found 28-year-old Alan Gonzalez dead.

In the investigation of the incident, it was determined that Gonzalez was riding a Suzuki motorcycle on I-24 when he lost control and hit the guardrails, and Gonzalez was thrown from the bike. The unoccupied motorcycle then traveled across both eastbound lanes and was struck by a truck outside Arkansas, KSP reported.

Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Prosecutor. The driver of the semi was not injured, according to KSP.

Multiple agencies assisted KSP on the incident, including the Oak Grove Fire Department, Christian County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky Department of Transportation and Christian County Rescue.
