Public feedback received on Chandler’s proposed water increase

CHANDLER, Ind. (WFIE) – The Indiana Utilities Office of Consumer Counsel wants to hear your thoughts on the proposed water price increase in Chandler.

Utility officials hope to have the authority to request up to about $15 million in long-term debt due to high operating costs and capital improvements, OUCC said.

The infrastructure projects are intended to accommodate expected customer growth over the next decade and include major expansions and a new water tower, according to a press release.

The utility is proposing a three-phase increase that would see monthly bills for customers using 4,000 gallons increase by more than $15 by 2027.
