LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident Tuesday’s fatal stabbing.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 6800 block of East Lake Mead Boulevard and located a man with stab wounds.

The man was transported to UMC Hospital, where he later died.

In the initial investigation, it was determined that the suspect took out the knife in his hand and stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene on foot.

In an update shared Thursday, police identified 33-year-old Jose Escamilla as the suspect and took him into custody Wednesday.

He is currently being held in the Clark County Detention Center and faces an open murder charge.
