A woman in her 30s is in Garda custody after being arrested in connection with the stabbing of a man (in his 20s) in Limerick City on Wednesday night.

It was learned that the man, who was injured with a knife to his head, was treated in the hospital.

A garda spokesman said gardaí were investigating “an incident of assault that occurred in the Thomondgate area of ​​Limerick City on 20 November 2024”.

“The incident occurred at approximately 8pm. Following the incident, a man in his 20s was transported to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of his injuries, which are currently believed to be non-life-threatening.”

A Garda spokesman said a woman in her 30s was arrested and “transported to Garda Station in Limerick”.

“The investigation is ongoing.”
