A Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol rioter from Tennessee was convicted Wednesday of plotting to kill Federal Bureau of Investigation agents.

according to US attorney’s officeEdward Kelley, 35, of Maryville, Tennessee, “was convicted following a three-day trial in the Eastern District of Tennessee on charges of conspiracy to murder federal employees, solicitation to commit a crime of violence, and influencing a federal official by threat.”

He faces life imprisonment at sentencing in May 2025.

The Justice Department said Kelley created a “kill list” of agents and other federal employees investigating his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The ruling comes nearly two weeks after Kelley was convicted of felonies including assaulting a police officer during the riot. According to Washington Post.
