DAVISBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Two suspects have been arrested in connection with a drone attack near the Washington State Penitentiary, authorities confirmed Thursday.

Saturday evening, deputies said they seized a large amount of illegal drugs and contraband near Davisboro.

Later Sunday, deputies said they were aware of another attempt to leave contraband at or near the Washington State Penitentiary.

After establishing the perimeter of the area, deputies soon contacted two males walking on Georgia Highway 231 north of Davisboro, authorities said.

Deputies said they investigated and found four bottles of prescription cough/cold syrup (Promethazine Hydrochloride) and other contraband in the men’s possession.

Ziad Burrell, 18, of Jonesboro, and Tyshaun Banks, 21, of Jonesboro, were charged with breaching security lines without a guard’s permission, dealing with inmates, and possession of a Schedule III substance with intent to distribute. authorities.
