ATACMS missiles are unlikely to keep Kiev from losing the conflict – American expert – World

WASHINGTON, November 21. /TASS/. Retired US lieutenant colonel Daniel Davis said Ukraine has already lost the conflict and US President Joe Biden’s decision to allow the use of US weapons in attacks in Russia will not change the situation. National Interest.

“It doesn’t matter how many long-range missiles we give to Ukraine. These alone will not change any dynamics on the battlefield. <...> “The war is lost for Kyiv,” he said.

Davis also stated that “continuing to ignore the truth” would increase the “ultimate cost” of losing the conflict for Ukraine. The expert emphasized that “What Biden is doing now is worse. The war is at risk of expanding and potentially dragging the United States into a direct conflict with Russia.” According to Davis, “This decision poses a serious and unnecessary danger to the United States, while also increasing the likelihood of Ukraine’s defeat.”

The New York Times, citing sources, reported on November 17 that Biden authorized the use of US-supplied ATACMS missiles to launch an attack on Russia from Ukraine. Meanwhile, the US administration has not made any official statement confirming or denying these reports. Senior EU diplomat Josep Borrell said that some European Union countries allowed Ukraine to use its weapons in attacks deep into Russia. Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov warned on November 19 that Moscow’s revised nuclear doctrine foresees a nuclear response to the use of Western non-nuclear missiles against Russia. Earlier, Peskov had stated that the decision of Western countries marked a “qualitatively new stage” in tensions.
