Authorities are investigating explosion at home Incident that left two people dead in Bethel, Ohio. The fatal incident was recorded by a neighbor’s doorbell camera in Tate County.

A press release shared by Bethel-Tate Fire Department He said first responders were dispatched to Vic Joy Drive just before 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, for a “structure fire” involving a “possible trap.”

When the units got underway, they were told it could be an explosion.

“The first crews to arrive at the scene confirmed that there was a large debris field in the neighborhood as well as a severe fire in the house,” the statement said.

According to officials, crews eventually extinguished the flames. However, authorities confirmed that two dead victims were found among the debris. “A third victim was able to proceed safely and was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with burns,” the statement said.

The fire department said no further details were available about the survivor’s current condition and expressed its condolences to the relatives of the deceased.

Area residents shared their experiences with local news organizations like Derrick Gullett. WCPO The explosion suddenly woke him up.

“I was sleeping around 9 o’clock when I was woken up by a huge explosion,” the neighbor said. “I fell out of bed, went outside, and saw a gentleman who was currently working inside the residence running away from the house. It was shocking. His hair was still on fire when he was outside.”

Gullett said the unidentified employee “just exploded” when he told her he was working on a furnace at the home. He added that the couple who lived there were good people who had many cats.

Cooper estimated that as many as 30 cats were found dead at the scene, the news station reported.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting an ongoing investigation into what caused the explosion, the fire department said in a statement.
