TAMPA, Fla. – A. tampa The mother faces child abuse charges after deputies say she brought a baby with multiple injuries to the hospital earlier this year.

according to Hillsborough County On Sept. 15, 2024, Alexis Hardacre, 27, took an 18-month-old boy to Brandon Regional Hospital with injuries to his face, neck and arm, as well as bruising behind his ear and on his right thigh, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Investigators said Hardacre repeatedly slammed the baby into the crib and restrained him multiple times using excessive force.

According to HCSO, Hardacre told deputies that he had run out of patience because the baby refused to sleep during the nap and admitted causing the injuries.

“This case is heartbreaking. No child should have to endure the pain and suffering inflicted on this innocent baby,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “We will always protect the most vulnerable members of our community and ensure that those who harm them are held accountable.”

Hardacre has been charged with one count of child abuse.

HCSO says the case is active and ongoing.
