According to the information provided by the authorities, there was one person who caused chaos inside the restaurant, and another person, who was also a customer, stepped in.

Police said there was a physical altercation between the two and the person who caused the initial disturbance stabbed the victim multiple times.

The suspect then fled, according to authorities.

The suspect, described as a white Hispanic man approximately 6 feet, 4 inches tall with dark blue hair, frequented the area, authorities said. Police said he allegedly harassed a female employee, which is why the victim stepped in.

“Prior to the altercation, the individual was harassing one of the employees at the business to the point of discomfort, and our good Samaritan customer who intervened felt, saw and tried to find a solution. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a physical condition and he is currently fighting for his life in a local hospital.” said Detective Andre Martin.

The victim was taken to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in critical condition, police said. Witnesses told Local 10 the victim was 39 years old and underwent emergency surgery overnight.

They said the suspect was known by the nickname “Shorty” and was thought to live in the area.

The search and investigation for the suspect continues.
