Maharashtra Assembly Polls: Sachin Tendulkar and Akshay Kumar Among Early Voters in Mumbai

Former Indian Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, actor Akshay Kumar and Rajkummar Rao are among the first voters in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly Elections. Bollywood celebrities came out of their homes early in the day to exercise their basic right to vote.

Sachin Tendulkar, along with his wife Anjali and daughter Sara, voted at a polling booth in Mumbai. The trio flashed their inked fingers to the media.

“I have been the symbol of ECI (Election Commission of India) for a long time. My message is to come and vote. This is our responsibility. I hope people make the effort and come out and vote. “I invite everyone to come and vote,” he said.

Actor Akshay Kumar showed off his inked finger after voting for the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly Elections.

While talking to the media, Akshay Kumar made a clear call to vote. Praising the arrangements made at the polling booth, Mr. Kumar said, “The arrangements for senior citizens are great. Cleanliness has been ensured. I want everyone to come out and vote.” he said.

Rajkummar Rao cast his vote at a polling booth at Gyan Kendra Secondary School in Mumbai. He called on citizens to fulfill the “important” duty and vote.

“This is our right in a democracy, so it is important that we go out and vote. I did my duty. Now it’s your turn. Please vote,” actor Rajkummar Rao said while talking to news agency Press Trust of India.

Actor and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt appealed to her fans to let their votes count. He wrote: “Go vote Mumbai. Go vote for Bandra. “Your vote is important.”

Film directors Kabir Khan and Zoya Akhtar, actor Ali Fazal and film producer and actor Farhan Akhtar also came out early to vote and perform their duties.

Voting for the single-phase Maharashtra assembly elections started at 7 am and will end at 6 pm. Voting is taking place in 288 assembly constituencies.

A total of 4,136 candidates, 2,086 of whom are independent, are participating in the elections.
